About Me

I completed my BA in Psychology and Philosophy at UC Berkeley and my PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Iowa. My graduate research focused on the benefits of friendships and other supportive relationships in the lives of under-resourced children. I have worked in a variety of settings including community mental health clinics and VA medical centers. I am frequently touched by the threads of human experience that many of us share in common.

I am a theatre and stand-up comedy fan, Halloween enthusiast, and former Disneyland employee. During the pandemic I rediscovered my childhood love of bugs. I enjoy needle felting fuzzy sci-fi creatures and spending time with my husband, daughter, and puppy Arya.
