My Approach
Owning a human brain can be annoying at times. This struggle intensifies when your brain operates differently from those around you, or nudges you in the opposite direction of where you want to go. I support people in better understanding themselves and pursuing a life that works best for them. My approach is grounded in evidence based techniques, primarily Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I use tools such as humor and mindfulness to help people navigate challenging situations. Though therapy is serious work, I find that occasional silliness can do a lot to help reframe the challenges we face. I love incorporating geeky media references and metaphors to help illustrate therapeutic concepts.
My approach is supportive, creative, and collaborative. I try to create a space where the people I work with feel seen and respected. I encourage people to take active steps toward a life they care about even when such steps seem daunting.
