I understand that owning a human brain can be annoying at times. My goal is to help you take uncomfortable thoughts and feelings out of the driver’s seat and make choices consistent with what you value most in life. My approach is grounded in evidence based cognitive behavioral therapy techniques--primarily, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I use tools such as humor and mindfulness to help people interact more flexibly with challenging situations. Though therapy is serious work, I find that occasional silliness can do a lot to help reframe the challenges we face. I love incorporating geeky media references and metaphors to help illustrate therapeutic concepts.
My approach is supportive, creative, and collaborative. I try to create a space where the people I serve feel seen and respected. I encourage people to take active steps toward a life they care about even when such steps seem daunting.
